Victoria College choir flown by old Victorian

Victoria College junior choir, Cambiata, from Jersey successfully competed in a number of performances in the Mid-Somerset Music Festival in Bath recently.

The choristers performed Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Jersey Boys' Medley by Franki Valli arr. Humphries plus Wiegenlied by Brahms and Mr Sandman by Ballard.

The 28-strong choir flew from Jersey to Bristol with Blue Islands and coincidently, First Officer Ben Smith who operated that flight was a former Victoria College student who sang in the choir when at college and is now also an organist at the Town Church.

In both classes the Choir were placed 2nd with Commended Certificates. In addition, fourteen out of the twenty-eight choristers entered a variety of solo and duet classes singing classical, folk, art, pop and show songs and also duets.
