Pudsey Bear arrives in Guernsey for Children in Need appeal

There was excitement at Guernsey airport yesterday as a famous face arrived in the Channel Islands. Not your average celebrity, this was Pudsey Bear who flew in with Blue Islands to raise awareness for the 2015 Children in Need appeal in Guernsey, before flying to Jersey for tonight's party at Fort Regent.

BBC Radio Guernsey and Jersey host an online auction each year with companies and organisations across the Channel Islands donating amazing items for Islanders to bid on. Rob Veron, Blue Islands' Managing Director said

With projects across the Channel Islands benefiting from Children in Need grants, as a local airline, Blue Islands is proud to regularly support the fantastic appeal. This year we are donating over 20 return flights for the BBC's auction.

Children in Need has a united vision across the nation that every child has a childhood which is; safe, happy and secure and allows them the chance to reach their potential. Last year's campaign alone raised £49.1m to help make a difference to over 480,000 children. Since 1980 it has raised over a staggering £790 million to change the lives of disabled children and young people.
