Lily was in the Severn Stars U17 team for the Netball Performance League annual. They were narrowly beaten 31-34 by eventual champions Manchester Thunder in the semi-final but went on to win 33-31 against Wasps to finish the tournament in Bronze position.
I was very disappointed to lose in the semi final, however, it is great to come home to Jersey with a medal to show my fellow players, Head Coach Linda Andrews at Team Jets and Jersey Netball Association who have been really supportive to me. I am really grateful to the Blue Islands #mybi Flight Fund for the support that has allowed me to travel to England to train for and play in this tournament
Lily, who is still only 15 years old, also represented Severn Stars U17's at the same tournament last year (also winning the bronze medal) and was a Gold medal winner at the U15 School Games with the Severn Stars team last year. The past season, Lily has been playing for Team Jets in the National League division 3, the youngest player to ever represent the Jersey’s senior team, which has given her a huge confidence boost and helped improve her all-round game.
In 2019/20, Lily will be studying her A levels at the Hartpury College Netball Academy in England and is very much looking forward to a year of intense training and skill development. She has also made the team for Premier Romans Netball Club and will be playing the 2019/20 season in the National League division 2, alongside Bath Superleague player Laura Rudland.
A very exciting year ahead for Lily.
