German visitors part of expanded inbound European charter programme

FIRST GERMAN CHARTER FLIGHT OF 2025 ARRIVES IN JERSEY

Blue Islands welcomed the first German arrivals of its 2025 European charter programme on Saturday as guests flying from Erfurt and Münster / Osnabrück airports touched down in Jersey to begin week-long holidays discovering the everything the island has to offer.

The flight marks the start of a seven-week series of inbound flights from airports across Germany, which will see hundreds of visitors enjoying stays in Jersey this summer.

Rob Veron, Chief Executive of Blue Islands said, “We’re delighted to be the trusted airline for our expanding list of European tour operator partners, ensuring a seamless, direct travel experience for their clients. Germany is an important market, and it was a pleasure to welcome the first guests from Erfurt and Münster / Osnabrück airports as they began their holidays in Jersey this weekend.”

Tricia Warwick, Chief Executive of Visit Jersey, said “Germany remains a key market for Jersey, with visitor numbers increasing by 27% last year. We are delighted to see the return of direct charter flights for 2025, making it easier for European visitors to discover all that Jersey has to offer.

“This year, Visit Jersey led a sales mission to the German market, represented the island at leading travel trade show ITB Berlin, and welcomed key European tour operators to the island for our 'Discover Jersey' event. Working alongside Blue Islands, Ports of Jersey, and our European tour operator partners, Visit Jersey is committed to delivering targeted, impactful marketing that elevates Jersey's profile and stimulates future demand.”

This activity is part of Blue Islands’ expanded 2025 inbound European charter programme which includes inbound flights from Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. In total this programme will generate up to 33,000 visitor bed nights in the Channel Islands this year, delivering significant value to the visitor economy.

Rob added, “We play a key role in nurturing the inbound visitor economy of our islands. Our long-standing Swiss partner continues with flights from Zurich, while adding Bern, new for 2025. In May and June, our new Austrian partner completed a successful seven-week series of flights from Vienna to Jersey. We’re already in discussions with new and existing partners for 2026, and we’re optimistic for further expansion and even more opportunities for European tourists to visit our beautiful islands.”
